Dear family in Christ,
Little did I realise last Sunday in fulfilling my morning service preaching appointment at our sister society, The Glen, in Garsfontein, that I WOULD BE TAKING A FUNERAL SERVICE! – that’s if you felt anything like the rest of South Africa after losing to Australia in the rugby quarter finals!! Eina!
But, the sun rose again on Monday morning, inviting us into a new day and a new week of life with God. We will survive!
This Sunday morning here at Brooklyn, we are having A BAPTISM SERVICE at our 09:30 service (much better), when 5 children will be initiated into Christ’s Church. The ongoing, continuing, “eternal” nature of the Church is truly awesome.
Folk, there are two separate CALLS TO PRAYER in today’s bulletin.
• Firstly our 40 hour “Let’s Take Time to Pray Together” prayer vigil focusing inwardly on THE LIFE OF OUR CHURCH HERE AT BMC – please, please, pray especially at this time of intense prayer for our Church.
• Secondly, THE CALL TO PERSONAL “PRAYER” in making use of our dedicated Prayer Chapel in the Pastoral house next to the church building for times of personal “retreat” and refreshing.
We do thank our Lord for the safekeeping of our Youth in their Missions trip. Thank you to the many who made this possible.
And finally, thank you to our unseen “fairies” who, working in unison with God, create our beautiful gardens.
With love, Gary
